Project: The Island

You wake up, face down in the sand. Wet, cold, confused. A small wooden dock and the remnants of your boat are strewn about the shore.  You look up and see what appears to be an entry gate in the distance. Shipwrecked on a lonely island in the middle of the ocean, you can do but one thing: explore.

Mobile gaming has become a popular area of development due to the unique advantages of smartphone and tablet form factors. Phones and tablets are arguably the most common delivery mechanism for casual games, but the platform lacks content for the ‘core’ gamer audience. Size, weight, and hardware processing constraints have forced game designers to work around the limitations of the mobile platform. Recent advancements in mobile GPU hardware; however, have presented new possibilities for richer, graphically detailed games on mobile devices.

'The Island' is an experimental game built from the ground up for mobile devices. Leveraging Unity, NVIDIA Tegra 3 accelerated 3D graphics, and the new input capabilities of modern devices, the mysterious and beautiful world of 'The Island' is just a touch away.
